It’s certainly true that we should immerse ourselves of thoughts of this sort as well as genuine love for others, but one important thing this might overlook is the role of praxis. As I force myself by perpetual habit to tell the truth (or at least share my beliefs) when it should be told, after a while I find that I’m not at all bothered by rejection. And you know Face that I know a thing or two about rejection (for those unaware, check my picture out). Much can be said about this topic, but I’ll end by giving you one of my favorite Bible verses: “Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets” (Luke 6:26).

Rob, that is a really great point. I don't know how I missed that! These things do get easier with practice--especially when we see how God sustains us in the face of rejection (2 Tim 4:16!)

Sorry--make that 2 Tim 4:16-17. That second part is kind of the point!
