Isn't hatred awful? That's the root cause of this need to bash conservatives: people seem to need to lash out against someone-or-thing. Perhaps that's the root of all bashing. As a compassionate liberal, I refuse to bash conservatives. As a committed Christian, I refuse to bash anyone. Wouldn't it be amazing if all Christians decided to stop any and all sneering, scorning, debunking, nastiness, stereotyping, bashing and degrading? What if people who disagreed did so in a Christian spirit?
Yes, I know Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple and waxed wroth on other occasions. But for the Lord to do this is one thing, and for we limited humans to do so seems a bit presumptious, especially when it stings–

Having checked the final totals, I cannot help but laugh at the fact that President Bush got 62 million votes and Senator Kerry got 59 million (link).

Good grief. I tend to focus on other things because of calling and shortness of time, but articles like this slap me in the face with reality of double standards about conservatives and conservatism. I know there are some conservatives out there who say foolish, vicious things, but many conservatives are gracious, educated, loving, self-sacrificing people who walk in a way of traditional wisdom. To read these pop culture accounts is disappointing, to understate.
