Gregory Koukl (www.str.org) has built some great resources around this entire concept. He says essentially the same thing in that we are either ambassadors for ill or for good. It's a 24/7/365 job – we are always on the clock influencing people either towards or away from Christ by our actions and words.

I blogged on the basis for this a couple of days ago, out of a book on missions I am reading for a course at Bethel Seminary. I started with:

The central need of people is to be reestablished in a living relationship with a loving God — to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. How should we live in order to help them do this?

And then went on to flesh out how we can live this out with people. Everyone is a missionary of some sort, and we need to view our lives from that perspective.
