When you wrote “However, it became necessary for churches to agree upon what was good teaching and what was bad teaching.” I was interested by the passive voice there. “It became necessary” because, according to the histories that I have read, Christians were quarrelling, oppressing and killing one another over various interpretations of scripture and over various practices, derived from those interpretations. Of course we can all probably guess which being motivated those quarrels, and it was not Jesus Christ. The satanic ability to turn Christians against one another is very interesting. Christians keep falling into the trap of attacking one another.
