I was against Williams' execution because I am against capital punishment, not because of his reported reforms. (In a legal sense, it would be hard to grant clemency if the convict has never admitted to the crime in the first place. Perhaps the governor could have commuted his sentence instead. It was a misguided defense, in my opinion.) I wanted to lay that out for the sake of disclosure. This is a heated topic, to be sure, so I would like to be wary of that from the get go.

Could you clarify this statement for me?
“Instead of justice, we have a perverted form of racism- not against black people, but against white people. Did clemency advocates consider that giving clemency might be racist against the three Asians who were slain?”
I don't see how the second sentence supports the claim of the first. Just curious.
