Oh I don't know if anyone's rights are being taken away, or that feelings are necessarily spared.
I've played in games where this is what's known as being “skunked”, and my feelings would be more offended by being skunked than by getting blasted. One way to look at it is this just add another dimension or dynamic to a familiar game. Kind of like how tennis matches can be over really quickly if they're not at all competitive.
An excellent team might now want to break different records, less individualistic ones, by seeing how many teams they can skunk.
I see your points though. Fortunately we can agree this isn't an essential matter!
