You win on the merits of the ideal, but I don't know if I'll be able to stop smiling at some things.
Thanks for your email and for your unbelievable graciousness in posting the interviews. Yes, good things continue to happen for CG and the A-Team is a big part of that. Recently the Trinity Fellows Program in Charlottesvill all read your interview with me as part of a two week discussion on engaging non-believers. I am grateful for your kindness, and for the A-Team blog in general.

Hi GL! I do admit that I often laugh...there certainly are enough crazy things here in L.A. (e.g., I have a friend who refused to see The Blair Witch Project because it was "anti-witch propaganda"). But I've found that the closer I am to the person and the more I care about him or her, the less likely I am to think any of it is funny. I wish I had that kind of heart for everybody.

Perhaps we can do both? It's truly hard to obliterate a laugh through rational decision and some things just tickle us. Can't we address the person seriously after a chuckle? :)
