I'll have to read the Piper piece. I think you're right about how Calvinists get stereotyped. I wouldn't put myself in that camp, though I am influenced by Calvin and Calvinists. When I read or hear Richard Mouw or read Marilynne Robinson's works like Gilead, I think, I could be a Calvinist. They express the warm, embracing side of Calvinism rather than the colder aspects of the Puritan side.

I'm still not sold on Huckabee, despite Joe Carter's and Matt Anderson's best (and repeated) efforts to convince me. I'm not sure how much of this has to do with the fact that he looks like President Logan.

I've been reading up on Huckabee and have signed up for his emails. There's a lot to like about him, but (for me) I especially appreciate his sense of humor. He's very self-effacing, which you have to love in any politician. I hope he does well in Iowa.
