1) This post was not exclusively focused on men, each of the points I made apply to both genders. I gave examples from a male perspective since that's all I've experienced, but the principles are the same regardless of gender. Both men and women struggle generally with pornography and masturbation, regardless the differences between them. I don't think a discussion of temptations is off-limits, but that wasn't the point of the post. Fide-o did a good post on this topic a few weeks ago: http://fide-o.blogspot.com/2008/03/porn-for-women.html
2) In general, these discussions should be co-ed. If we're talking about personal accountability groups, those should not be, but since we're talking about general principles (lust is a sin and God has said so), it should be a co-ed discussion. Men and women should seek to understand what the opposite gender generally struggles with.

Important subject, but I wonder, given its exclusive focus on men and specifically sexual sins, whether or not this is a discussion to which women should be privy. To talk about it certainly is important, but if it doesn't involve a discussion of women and their own lusts, then shouldn't this take place in private? At one point you say, "We treat them as if they are secret unique sins, but just about every one in some way struggles sexually." True, although if this discussion were to include women yet remain focused on sex, then it will avoid lusts to which women are tempted. Bluntly, women are simply not tempted to lust after Ron Jeremy in the same way men are tempted to lust after Jenna Jameson (to use examples of, er, prominent porn stars). What, then, would be the equivalent temptation for women? If a discussion of those temptations is off-limits, then the discussion of men and their issues should likewise take place in private. If the discussion is coed, then the focus should be more on general lust than on the kind of sins that are more common for men.
