But really the answer isn't ignorance, it's humility. In this case “power and control” aren't the problems, rather it's the inappropriate use of “power and control.” The reject all “power and control” as Burke intends, throws out most of God's intentions for us. Yes, one role we are responsible for is serventhood. But many are also called to be parents, elders, deacons, ministers, prophets, etc. All of those roles require some degree of “power and control” (as well as serventhood). Burke's throwing out the baby with the bath water.
