I agree he is wrong for the role. They are even going to make his first movie Casio Royal. The first ever James Bond adventure when he has only been a 00 for a few days
There is at least 5 other actors that would be better.

I have a hard time imagining senior-citizen Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones. This will be interesting.

But as I mentioned above, he has already resorted to this, so who knows if he'll try it again--and this time, on the big screen. We all have to prepare for the worst.

I understood it was all in fun. I just have never understood the fascination with Bond (aside from the Nintendo 64 Goldeneye game) and wanted to express my exasperation. That different actors are able to play him seems to show how thin the character is. Can anyone imagine someone other than Harrison Ford playing Indiana Jones? It would be a travesty.

I don't understand the big deal about a new James Bond. We have little to worry about. The films will continue to follow the exact same formula. There won't be a hint of any character development. (20+ movies and what has Bond ever learned or how has he ever grown?) He'll still be a misogynist. I really don't care who plays Bond; it's a cardboard character if there ever was one. Personally I'm glad Ewan McGregor didn't get the role. That way I can maintain my respect for him as an actor.

From all the negative comments about Daniel Craig, I can only conclude that William Lane Craig would be a more acceptable Bond to some of you.
My own feeling is that Daniel Craig is to the Bond franchise what Harriet Miers is to the Supreme Court.

It has one thankfully brief objectionable scene of a carnal nature, but otherwise is a gem of a movie (in my layman's opinion). It is set in WWII England, at the heart of the Brits' operation to decode Nazi encrypted messages. It also stars the guy from Ever After (Dougray Scott), who is quite good, and Kate Winslet and Saffron Burrows.
Northam plays a delightfully dangerous sort of character, charming, yet somewhat snaky (kind of the opposite of his Emma performance). I won't say any more at the risk of ruining it, but I do give it an enthusiastic recommendation. (we need an A-team film festival!).
